About
Darius Balumuka is a Pediatric Plastic Surgeon who earned his MBChB from Mbarara University of Science and Technology and a MMed Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from Mbarara University of Science and Technology. He then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Plastic Surgery at the University of British Columbia.
Darius is passionate about global surgery and making a difference in the world. His dedication led him to pursue additional training in the United States and will graduate in June 2024 from plastic surgery residency at Oregon Health and Science University and will be starting a craniofacial fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in August 2024.
In 2014, Darius founded Upasuaji International, a non-profit dedicated to elevating surgical services around the world. Their mission places a special focus on improving surgical care within East Africa.
